Monéé App, powered by Citygate Global Investment Ltd values the privacy of its users and is committed to protecting their personal information. This Privacy Policy applies to all information collected through Monéé App (“Monéé“, “our”, “we”, “us”), including but not limited to information provided by you, information automatically collected by us, and information obtained from third-party sources.

Please note that by clicking the “Proceed” button you are consenting to Monéé obtaining information provided by you and from relevant third parties as may be necessary. The collection and processing of your personal data is in accordance with the National Information Technology Development Agency Act 2007 (the “Act”), Nigeria Data Protection Regulation 2019 (the “Regulations”) and the provisions and prescriptions of Section 5; Part 1 and Part 2 of National Information Systems and Network Security Standards and Guidelines.

Information We Collect

Monéé collects the following types of information from you:

Personal Information: This includes information such as name, email address, and other contact information provided by you when you create an account on Monéé or make a transaction.

Location: Monéé may collect information about your device location, including the device’s GPS coordinates or IP address, to provide relevant services. This also helps us find and verify addresses, which helps make better credit risk decisions and speed up the “know your customer” (KYC) process.

House Address: Monéé may collect your house address to provide location-based services or to verify identity which serves as part of our “know your customer” (KYC) process.

Mobile Device Information: Information we collect from your device includes IMEI number, unique ID, that is, operating system information, SDK version and mobile network information (including operator name, SIM card serial number and SIM card slot), your personal data information, List of installed applications, Wi-Fi list, currently connected WIFI name, available storage space of the device, total storage space of the device. We collect information about your device to provide automatic updates and additional security. In addition, this information provides us with valuable feedback about your identity as the device holder and your device behavior, so that we can improve our services and provide you with an enhanced customized user experience.

Usage Information: We collect information about how you interact with Monéé, including the features you use, how often you use Monéé, and the duration of your sessions.

Financial Information: Monéé collects financial information, including payment information, when you make transactions through Monéé.

BVN: Monéé may collect your Bank Verification Number (BVN) to verify identity for financial transactions.

Image Information: Monéé may collect images provided by you, such as profile pictures or images uploaded through Monéé. The image information is used to personalize the user experience by displaying your profile picture in Monéé and to enhance Monéé features that involve image recognition.

Mobile Number: Monéé collects your mobile number provided by you during registration. This information is used to send you transaction notifications and to reach out to you when you default in payment of your loans.

Contact Information: When applying for loans on Monéé, we need the borrower to provide this information as a reference for the borrower's risk control assessment. Therefore, when you submit a loan application on Monéé, we need to collect your contact information, including the number; account type, name, and the last modified phone number of the contact information, such as the relationship and structure address and upload your contact information to the background. In addition, in order to make your application process more convenient, when filling in the recommender at Monéé, we need to access the address book to obtain contact information, including name and mobile phone number, so that we can automatically fill in the application process from the mobile phone address book contact information. This is all the necessary information for the loan application process and assessment of loan eligibility.

Next of Kin Details: Monéé may collect information about your next of kin in order to provide emergency contact information in the event we are unable to contact you.

Work Background: Monéé may collect information about your educational background and professional experience to better match you with potential employers or projects.

Income Information: Monéé may collect information about your income to provide relevant financial services and to help you with your financial goals. This is also necessary for the loan application process and assessment of loan eligibility.

WhatsApp ID: Monéé may collect your WhatsApp ID to enable secure communication and to provide you with customer support.


How We Use Information

Monéé uses the information collected from you to provide, maintain, and improve its services, as well as to:

Enable transactions: Monéé uses financial information to process payments and provide you with receipts for your transactions.

Personalize the user experience: Monéé uses information about your preferences and usage patterns, including image information, to personalize your experience and provide relevant services.

Improve Monéé: We use your usage information to continually improve our services and provide you with a better user experience.

Loan default notifications: Monéé uses your mobile number to reach out to you when you default on your loan repayment(s) and to remind you to make your payment(s).

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We undertake to preserve the confidentiality of all information you provide through Monéé. Information you provide or obtained by us shall be subject to the highest standards of privacy, security and confidentiality and such information will not be disclosed to any third party, except as outlined in this Privacy Policy or as required by law.

Service Providers: We may share personal information provided with service providers who assist with the operation and maintenance of Monéé. These service providers are subject to confidentiality agreements and are only authorized to use the information for the purpose of providing their services.

Legal Disclosures: We may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or in good faith, believe that such disclosure is necessary to comply with legal proceedings, respond to claims, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Monéé, its users, or the public.

Data Retention

Unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, we will only hold your data on our system for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy. In the event of an unauthorized use of your Monéé account, you agree to promptly notify us of such breach.

Data Storage: We store user data on secure servers located in encrypted data centers. Access to this data is limited to authorized personnel and is subject to strict security protocols.

Remedies

Each of the parties will be entitled to enforce its rights in the event of a breach of the terms of this privacy policy, to recover damages caused by any breach of the provisions herein and to exercise all other rights existing under law. Any claim or dispute arising in relation to this privacy policy shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We shall not be liable for any breach where a claim in respect of such breach is not brought within one month of the date that such breach arose.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in its practices or services. The updated Privacy Policy will be posted on Monéé and will be effective immediately upon posting. When you are overdue or unable to repay your loan on time, we may need to contact you through your other contact methods, or through other legal channels (Phone address book information) to get in touch with you. When you are not answering the call, we may ask the recipient to convey relevant information to you on the premise that the recipient is willing to prompt you to perform the contract in a timely manner.
